Advanced Uses of Custom Wire Mesh in Different Areas

Mesh wire is a metal wire with a lattice pattern, made from iron, steel, stainless steel, or copper. The mesh wire is used in different areas and serves different purposes. In many places, it acts as a barrier; in some places, it is used to filter out different elements.

In agriculture, the mesh is also used to prevent predators. So, it is a versatile tool in the industry. Here we are going to discuss the major uses of mesh in different areas.

Industrial Uses

In industrial usage, custom wire mesh is used to tolerate high temperatures, chemical exposure, and heavy load exposure. Mesh belts are used in factories and are often called open-weave mesh belts.  They are used in drying ovens, washing tunnels, and for cooling materials. In contrast to solid belts, this mesh allows air and water to pass through it easily.

There is also extensive usage of chemicals to filter out corrosive chemicals. For acids and crude oil, the mesh made from specialized alloy or stainless steel is used. Some heavy welded wire mesh also serves as machine guards when used around running machines, helping workers remain safe and avoid hazards.

Construction Area

In many construction areas, the usage of repair is getting heavily replaced by the prefabricated welded wire mesh. This mesh is used between the wales, concrete slabs, and foundations to prevent concrete from cracking and give the structure a better support system.

The stainless steel mesh is used in bridges and marine structures exposed to saltwater or harsh chemicals to prevent rust and corrosion. When building a tunnel or underground basement, heavy-duty mesh is used to keep the soil stable.

Agricultural Site

Mesh fencing is very common in cattle farms or poultry farms. They are usually made of galvanized or stainless steel, which prevents predators such as foxes from entering the farm and harming cattle.

There are also underwater cages used in the sea to trap fish.  These cages are mesh and made with such material to tolerate the water pressure.

Automotive and Aerospace

In automotive or aerospace applications, it’s highly important to protect the engine, and for that, a thin layer of copper or stainless steel mesh is used in their fuel system. This filters out all the tiny elements and dust and prevents them from going inside the engine.

In the most heated area of the engine, multi-layer wire mesh is used to absorb sound and reduce vibration. This helps in controlling the high temperature.

Architecture Design

In modern buildings, rigid stainless steel mesh sheets are used. These act as solar shading screens and prevent sunlight from entering. It keeps the interior cool, which saves your AC bills.

TH buildings also look attractive due to the metallic look. In commercial offices and retail shops, the mesh is used as a panel to divide the spaces. It provides a modern and aesthetic interior look.

You have seen mesh wire on the balconies and stair areas, which not only look stylish but also give support and safety.
